Data from SID deployment in July-August 2020

The two Speed Indicator Displays, part-owned by the parish council, were deployed from 16 July to 12 August 2020, and the data from each SID is set out below:

SID Results – Unit by Post Office Lane
Total traffic numbers (85%): 18,286
Average speed (85%): 39.8 mph
Highest speed recorded: 70mph at 6.45pm on 22 July 2020

SID Results – Unit by county boundary
Total traffic numbers (85%): 10,844
Average speed (85%): 38.5 mph
Highest speed recorded: 60mph at 10.45pm on 16 July 2020

NB: The measure used by West Mercia Police is called the 85th percentile, which is intended to capture the average speed of most drivers by excluding the highest and lowest speeds.  The speeding data is shared with West Mercia Police.
